cyanotypes

Karen Molloy's work expresses the visual and textural substrate of her life in the urban environment, drawing from the surrounding textures, rhythms, and patterns.

She often uses vintage photo-printing techniques such as cyanotype and Van Dyke brown, on paper and fabric. These methods enable her to create unique prints that combine image fragments with various kinds of marks and textures on a single surface without a press.

All images are from photographs she’s taken where she lived and travelled.
